Tigers are a symbol of power in Chinese lore and this tiger with its fierce expression and tense pose is depicted in a stance of lethal protective grace. According to the Han dynasty, when the emperor ruled with virtue, the white tiger would appear. The white tiger is thereby associated with virtuous behavior because of this legend.

The tiger in this piece scales the mountains, perched as if he is ready to launch back into the sky. The exquisite detail of the surrounding terrain is just as sharp and flawless as the tiger’s claws. Each sinewy muscle of the tiger’s body is clearly portrayed and the intensity of its expression is clearly engraved. This quality piece shows the white tiger astride the earth, soaring like aged toward the heavens with power and grace. Struck in a high relief, this piece is complemented with vibrant coloring on select parts and antiqued Silver finishing.

On a canvas of 145x110mm, a new minting technique called “Bi-Metal Max” was applied to give this piece its remarkable weight. This is made possible by combining 33.5 oz of copper as a base with a top layer of 2 oz of 999 Fine Silver, resulting in a high relief. This is a limited edition of 333 pieces only.
